Back home in Sweden you have time to think throurgh what you´ve experienced and I tell you – it was a lot. But before summarizing I must add some pictures from the teachers workshop. It went so well – picking in garbage seems to be “the thing” – or as the young drumers from the gala-dinner expressed it: “Recycling is not only important – it´s fun”

So – now they have done it – given the best workshop on ICOT14 =). I was extremely proud when I listened to the teachers explaining how we. at our school “nurture young adults minds for the future” through working with thinking skills in a problem-based learning context. I´ll write more later – now it´s lunch

Our workshop will be held on Thursday- so now we rehears it in Petra´s hotelroom. A lot of laughter. You guys who come to see us will have a blast and leave our workshop a bit more curious and hopefully eager to start working with applying thinking skills into a problem-based learning curriculum =)

- How to Nurture Thinking for a Better Future
In this workshop you will experience how Thinking Based Learning (TBL) and Problem Based Learning (PBL) enrich each other. Come and participate in a modified PBL session by exposing yourself to the first pre-constructed problem that our 16-year-old students experience on the Natural Science and Humanities program in Sweden. See how learning becomes deeper and therefore more meaningful when the questions that you pose can be studied in subject-integrated form. See how complex thinking skills are assisted with the aid of graphic organizers to make your thinking explicit and well-thought through. Reflect, evaluate and use metacognition as your actions and thinking are consolidated. Recognise your intentions as you apply Habits of Mind for even more success. Utilise what you’ve done and what you’ve learned with us, by putting your thinking into action. Take up the challenge with us, then, nurture your students’ thinking for a better future.
